USDA: Corn Grind and Soybean Crush Numbers Reflect Strong Demand
Corn and soybean processing numbers for June 2026 are in line with strong demand for ethanol and soy products, according to the latest data from the USDA. The agency reports that 466.708 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production during the month, down 1% from May but up 4% from the same period last year due to domestic and export demand.
Distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) production was also higher in June at 1.819 million tons, representing a 3% gain on the month but a 3% loss compared to the same time last year.
The soybean crush numbers paint a similar picture of strong demand, with 218 million bushels processed during June - an increase of 5 million from May and 21 million more than the same period in 2025. Soybean meal and oil stocks were larger due to higher production.
