USDA Grain Bids Rise in Some Regions Amid August 17 Report
The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service released its daily state grain bids for August 17, 2026. The report covers Kansas, Illinois, Louisiana and Texas Gulf export, Portland, Indiana, and Ohio.
In Kansas, West Bid Ordinary wheat was quoted at a basis of -75.00 to -60.00 cents per bushel, unchanged, with prices ranging from $6.7925 to $6.9425 per bushel, up 0.3375. The average year-ago price was $4.7700.
The Illinois report showed Chicago terminals with a basis of -20.00 to -5.00 cents per bushel, unchanged, and prices between $6.5475 and $6.6975, up 0.2200. Central Illinois country elevator average prices were $4.45 for corn, down 14 cents, and $11.81 for soybeans, down 11 cents.
The Louisiana and Texas Gulf export report listed US #2 Yellow Corn bids at a basis of 99.00 cents per bushel, up 2.00 to unchanged, with a price of $5.6350, up 0.0750 to 0.0550. The year-ago price was $4.6350.
