USDA Grain Bids Show Mixed Trends Across Key Locations
The USDA released its daily state grain bids for August 21, 2026. The data covers reports from several key locations, including Kansas, Illinois, Louisiana's Texas Gulf, Portland, Indiana, and Ohio.
In Kansas, ordinary protein wheat prices ranged from -75.00 to -60.00 cents per bushel, with a year-ago average of $4.2050. Terminal elevators in the South reported a basis of -28.00 cents, unchanged, with a price of $7.3425.
Illinois saw Chicago terminals quoting ordinary protein wheat at a basis of -15.00 to -5.00 cents, unchanged, with prices from $6.6775 to $6.7775. The year-ago average was $4.7700. Central Illinois country elevators averaged corn at $4.64 per bushel, down 15 cents.
