USDA Raises Agricultural Export Forecast to $179.5 Billion Amid Global Demand Strength
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has increased its forecast for agricultural exports in fiscal 2026, citing strengthening global demand for American commodities.
The agency now expects $179.5 billion in exports, a $3 billion increase from the previous projection made in May.
This upward revision comes as the projected agricultural trade deficit begins to narrow from previous levels, with imports forecast at $204.5 billion and a $25 billion trade deficit, down from $42.9 billion in fiscal 2025.
The growth is driven by key commodity markets such as grains and specialty crops, with corn exports expected to reach $19.1 billion, tree nuts $12.2 billion, and dairy products $10.4 billion.
