USDA Reports Mixed Grain Price Movements Amid Declining Gulf Export Values
The USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service released its state grain bid reports for August 4, 2026. The reports show mixed price movements across the Midwest and export gateways. Corn and soybean bids in interior markets were mostly steady to higher, while Gulf export values declined.
According to the reports, CBOT corn futures settled at 449.25 cents per bushel for September 2026 delivery. Soybeans settled at 1168.75 cents per bushel for August 2026 and 1173.75 cents per bushel for September 2026. Wheat settled at 651.00 cents per bushel for September 2026.
Kansas terminal elevator bids for ordinary protein wheat were unchanged, with prices ranging from 6.4225 to 6.5725 dollars per bushel. Illinois South Illinois River terminal bids were also unchanged, with prices from 5.8000 to 5.9100 dollars per bushel. The year-ago average for that location was 4.8700 dollars per bushel.
However, Gulf export elevator bids for US #2 yellow corn declined, ranging from 106.00 to 107.00 cents basis, unchanged, with prices from 5.4725 to 5.4825 dollars per bushel, down 0.0800. The year-ago average was 4.6250 dollars per bushel.
