USDA Slashes Ukrainian Grain Export Forecasts Amid Russian Attacks
The US Department of Agriculture has lowered its forecast for Ukrainian wheat exports in the 2026/27 marketing year to 10.8 million tons, down from a previous estimate of 14.5 million tons.
This reduction is due to intensified Russian attacks on civilian vessels and port infrastructure, which have led shipowners to reconsider their willingness to operate in the region.
The barley export forecast for 2026/27 stands at 2.5 million tons, up slightly from a previous estimate of 2.4 million tons, while the rye export forecast was cut to 1,000 tons from 15,000 tons.
