USDA Trims Corn Yields and Reduces Production for 2026 Season
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released its September World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates, adjusting various crop yields and production levels for the upcoming 2026 season.
In a move that could impact the global corn market, the USDA trimmed the national yield to 178.5 bushels per acre, reducing production by 213 million bushels compared to previous estimates.
This reduction in production led to a decrease in new-crop carryout by 86 million bushels to 1.567 billion, with the season-average farm price increasing by 30 cents to $4.80 per bushel.
