USGBC Elects Jay Reiners as New Chairman
Jay Reiners of Juanita, Nebraska has been elected as the new Chairman of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC), a position he will hold for the next year.
The election took place during the organization's 66th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in Milwaukee, WI. Reiners, who lives near Juanita and previously farmed corn and soybeans with his wife for 35 years, is now retired from farming but remains active in the industry as a consultant.
As Chairman, Reiners has announced his theme for the year: 'Feeding and Fueling the World.' He emphasized the importance of the organization's role in providing high-quality products to feed and fuel not just the US, but also countries around the world. The U.S. grains industry contributes significantly to global exports.
Reiners also mentioned his goals for the year, which include ensuring that U.S. corn, sorghum, barley, ethanol, and DDGS remain among the best in the world.
