Uzbekistan Bolsters Gas Production Amid Rising Energy Demand
Uzbekistan is taking measures to boost gas production and supply amid rising energy demand. At a recent meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, officials reviewed oil and gas production, imports, processing, storage, and distribution.
The meeting focused on Uzbekneftegaz's efforts to maintain stable gas production by commissioning new wells and making more efficient use of existing fields. The company plans to launch 27 new gas wells in August, potentially increasing gas production by 887,000 cubic meters.
Work is underway at five fields: Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Koratau, Marvarid, and Tegirmon. Officials were instructed to monitor the process daily, from drilling to connecting the new wells to the gas transmission network.
