Valeura Energy Accelerates Wassana Field Redevelopment
Valeura Energy Inc., an energy company operating in Thailand and Türkiye, has announced plans to accelerate its redevelopment of the Wassana field. The project involves constructing a new central processing platform (CPP) on block G10/48 in the Gulf of Thailand.
The construction of the CPP is currently on budget and expected to reach mechanical completion by October 1, 2026. This will enable earlier offshore installation, with the company anticipating that first oil from the new development will be around the beginning of Q2 2027.
Valeura has also instructed its rig contractor to charter the Shelf Enterprise drilling rig from November 1, 2026, initially for Nong Yao wells and then for Wassana drilling. This acceleration is expected to result in approximately 430,000 barrels of oil production in 2027 at an anticipated plateau rate of about 7,500 bbls/d.
