VanEck Merk Gold ETF Suffers Quarter Billion Dollar Loss

The VanEck Merk Gold ETF reported its third quarter results for 2026, showing a net loss of $352.4 million compared to $4.8 million in the same period last year.

According to the quarterly report filed with the SEC, the trust's net asset value fell by about 10.18% during the quarter and 12.59% year-to-date due to declines in the market value of gold bullion held by the trust.

The VanEck Merk Gold ETF uses the Solactive Gold Spot Index and NYSE close pricing based on a TWAP methodology, with a sponsor fee set at 0.25% annually accrued daily and paid monthly in shares.
