Delcy Rodríguez, Venezuela's interim president, has announced that a historic energy agreement between Venezuela and the United States will last for 25 years. This agreement aims to increase oil production to over 1.5 million barrels per day.

The plan involves the development of 17 strategic oil fields with an initial target production volume of more than 1.5 million barrels per day. Rodríguez stated that this is only the beginning, as the broader plan also includes developing eight new oil blocks from scratch and expanding Venezuela's energy sector further.

The agreement marks a significant shift in relations between the two countries, with President Donald Trump describing it as 'the largest oil deal in history'. The US side expects American companies' involvement to help restore Venezuela's oil industry and create an additional source of crude oil for the US market.
