Venture Global Secures 20-Year LNG Deal with China Gas Holdings
Venture Global has signed a new long-term deal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply with China Gas Holdings, expanding their partnership despite ongoing trade tensions. The agreement will add 0.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of U.S. LNG to China Gas' contracted volumes from Venture Global's Plaquemines facility in Louisiana. This new deal will begin in 2030 and increase China Gas' total long-term contracted volumes with Venture Global to 2.5 MTPA.
The agreement comes as a significant expansion of the companies' partnership, which has been affected by ongoing trade barriers between the United States and China. Despite these challenges, both companies have continued to work together, demonstrating their commitment to their long-term relationship.
Venture Global's Plaquemines facility is one of the company's major assets in Louisiana, and this deal will further solidify its position as a leading player in the global LNG market. The agreement also underscores the growing importance of U.S.-China trade relationships in the energy sector.
