Vietnam Gold Prices Defy Global Decline Amid Bargain Buying
Despite a drop in global bullion rates, Vietnam's gold prices rose on Friday morning. The Saigon Jewelry Company's gold bar price gained 0.35% to VND142.2 million (US$5,413.43) per tael.
This marks a 0.49% increase for the week but puts the month-end result at a loss of 3.27%. The gold ring price also rose by 0.35% to VND141.7 million per tael.
A tael is equivalent to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
Globally, gold prices fell on Friday but are still on track for their first monthly gain in five months, supported by bargain buying around the $4,000 level.
