Vietnam Gold Prices Edge Up Amid Premium Stabilization
Domestic gold prices in Vietnam rose on Friday morning after Saigon Jewelry Company lifted bullion bars by 0.13 percent to VND148.6 million ($5,697.31) per tael.
The price increase comes despite a 2.75 percent drop in domestic gold prices since the beginning of the year, and a premium of approximately $6.8 million per tael above international spot benchmarks.
Global market participants have been focusing on upcoming US employment figures to understand future interest rate policy, which could impact gold prices.
Ross Maxwell, global strategy operations lead at VT Markets, noted that central bank accumulation continues to underpin physical demand for gold and limit broader downside across the sector.
