Gold prices in Vietnam declined on Wednesday morning despite stable global rates.

The Saigon Jewelry Company's gold bar price dropped by 0.7% to VND140.5 million (US$5,335.09) per tael, while the gold ring price fell by roughly the same rate to VND140 million per tael.

A tael is equivalent to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally, gold prices remained steady as investors awaited the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy decision and comments from Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh for clues on inflation and interest rate outlooks.
