Vietnam Gold Prices Unchanged, World Price Falls Amid Interest Rate Hike Expectations
The price of gold in Vietnam remains unchanged at the end of trading on September 6, with SJC gold bars listed between 144.6-147.6 million VND/tael (buying - selling), and a buying-selling difference of 3 million VND/tael.
Phu Quy Gold and Gems Group listed the price of gold rings at 144.6-147.9 million VND/tael (buying - selling) with a buying-selling difference of 3.3 million VND/tael.
The world gold price recorded at 6:00 PM was around 4,429.1 USD/ounce, down 0.96% or 43.1 USD from the previous day.
According to the World Gold Council's (WGC) 2026 Central Bank Gold Reserve Survey, central banks have purchased an average of about 1,000 tons of gold per year in the past four years, double the average rate of the previous decade.
The WGC survey also found that up to 45% of participating central banks expect to increase their gold reserves in the next 12 months, while 89% predict that total global gold holdings will continue to rise.
