Vietnamese Gold Prices Align with Global Rates Amid Inflation Concerns
Domestic gold prices in Vietnam have fallen to match world prices, according to recent data. The price of SJC gold bars at major trading companies such as Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), DOJI, PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau, and others has remained stable, trading between 143-146 million VND/ounce.
The buying price of gold in Vietnam is now equal to the world price, a significant change from previous periods when domestic prices were significantly higher than international market rates. This narrowing gap between domestic and international gold prices indicates that the Vietnamese precious metals market is becoming more interconnected with the global market.
The Federal Reserve officials have expressed concern about inflation, signaling that they may need to raise interest rates soon unless progress is made in curbing inflation. The minutes of the Fed's recent meeting showed that many members assessed that tightening policy may be necessary if inflation does not decrease.
