The price of gold in Vietnam continues to rise, receiving support from the global market. As of 9:15 am on August 13, SJC gold bars were listed at 141.6-144.6 million VND/tael (buying - selling), an increase of 800,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions.

The difference between buying and selling prices is 3 million VND/tael. Similar price movements were seen at DOJI and Bao Tin Minh Chau, with the latter remaining unchanged in both buying and selling directions.

World gold prices are also on the rise, listed around 4,410.2 USD/ounce, up 16.6 USD/ounce from the previous day. This increase is attributed to the cooling down of US inflation data, which showed a 0.1% increase in consumer price index (CPI) compared to the previous month and 3.4% compared to the same period last year.

However, gold's room for growth faces resistance from high energy prices, which may prolong the high-interest rate environment. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East also continue to strengthen safe-haven demand for gold.
