Vietnam's Gold Bar Prices Surge Amid Global Bullion Rate Rise
Vietnam's gold bar prices surged on Monday morning, following a global trend of rising bullion rates.
The Saigon Jewelry Company's gold bar price increased by 0.56% to VND144.8 million (US$5,522.72) per tael, outpacing global rates by roughly VND4.75 million per tael.
The price of a gold ring also rose by the same rate to VND144.3 million per tael.
A tael is equivalent to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces, providing a benchmark for these transactions.
Globally, spot gold rose 0.4% to $4,391.07 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery edged 0.3% higher to $4,448.10.
