Volatility Reigns as Gold, Silver Await Fed Decision

Gold and Silver prices continued to trade near recent lows on Wednesday due to heightened volatility as investors await the outcome of the US Federal Reserve policy meeting.

The precious metals market has been under pressure, with Gold August Futures trading around $4009.80 per ounce and Silver September Futures hovering near $57.090 range.

Markets widely expect the Federal Reserve to leave interest rates unchanged at the conclusion of its two-day meeting, but investors are looking for guidance on future policy changes from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.

The stronger US dollar and expectations of elevated interest rates have reduced the appeal of non-yielding assets such as gold and silver, increasing their opportunity cost compared to interest-bearing investments.
