Wall Street Mixed as Oil Prices Fall Amid Iran Conflict
The US stock market saw a mixed finish on Wall Street on Friday as oil prices fell for the first time in a week, amid increasing pressure from the escalating war with Iran.
The S&P 500 barely budged, rising just 3.68 points to 7,411.98, its second consecutive losing week since March.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 235.60 points to 51,947.25, while the Nasdaq fell 161.87 points to 24,975.82, weighed down by sharp losses from big tech stocks such as Micron Technology and Broadcom.
The energy market is facing increased pressure due to the conflict in the Middle East, which has weakened buffers including US strategic reserves.
