Stocks on Wall Street rose Wednesday as oil prices and bond yields remained relatively steady. The S&P 500 index increased by 0.6%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 270 points, or 0.5%, at 12:03 p.m. Eastern time. The Nasdaq composite also saw a gain of 0.5%. Banks led the way with JPMorgan Chase rising 0.8% and Bank of America increasing by 1.3%. Dell Technologies made significant gains after releasing an encouraging financial update, increasing by 6.9%.

The market had experienced two weak days before this rebound, as rising oil prices and a bond-market sell-off put pressure on the broader market. The recent U.S.-Iran conflict has intensified, but oil prices held relatively steady at $95.69 per barrel for Brent crude, despite the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on global shipping costs.

Economists are closely watching inflation data, as it remains above 3% and is a key focus for the Federal Reserve. The Fed's interest rate decision in September will be influenced by this week's employment report, which could provide more clarity on the labor market. Angelo Kourkafas, senior global strategist at Edward Jones, noted that Friday's employment report 'will play a significant role in determining whether policymakers decide to raise rates in September.'

The yield on the 10-year Treasury rose slightly to 4.80% from 4.79% late Tuesday, while the 2-year Treasury held steady at 4.39%. Investors are betting on a 64% chance of a rate hike at the upcoming Fed meeting.
