Wall Street Rebounds as Oil Prices Hold Steady
Stocks on Wall Street rose Wednesday as oil prices and bond yields remained relatively steady, giving investors some relief from previous days' pressure.
The S&P 500 index gained 0.4%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 203 points or 0.4% at 1:28 p.m. Eastern time. The Nasdaq composite rose 0.3%.
Technology and communication services stocks led the gains, with chipmaker Nvidia rising 3.6% and computer memory seller Micron Technology increasing 1.2%. Meta added 2.4%, and Netflix rose 1.3%.
Banks and credit card issuers also contributed to the market's lift, as Capital One Financial rose 2.7% and American Express gained 1.6%. Dell Technologies saw its largest gain among S&P 500 stocks at 9.2% after releasing an encouraging financial update.
