Wall Street Stocks Waver Amid Easing Tensions
Stocks on Wall Street closed mixed on Monday as crude oil prices dropped after tensions between the US and Iran eased.
The S&P 500 rose less than 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5%. The Nasdaq composite fell 0.2%, its fourth straight loss.
The price of Brent crude, the international standard, dropped 6.3% to settle at $85.87 a barrel for October delivery. US crude oil for September delivery fell 7.5% to settle at $82.61 a barrel.
Technology companies like Nvidia and Micron Technology declined, while Microsoft rose 1.9% and Apple increased by 1.2%. Google parent Alphabet also gained 2.1%.
