Wall Street Wavers as Oil Prices Fall Amid Ongoing Conflict
Wall Street's major indices suffered mixed losses on Friday as oil prices fell for the first time in a week. The S&P 500 barely budged, rising 3.68 points to 7,411.98, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 235.60 points to 51,947.25.
The Nasdaq, however, declined 161.87 points to 24,975.82, weighed down by sharp losses from big tech stocks Micron Technology and Broadcom.
The ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to threaten global oil supplies, with Brent crude falling 3.9% to $96.78 per barrel. This decline follows a recent surge in prices that saw Brent move above $100 per barrel on Thursday.
