Washington Gas Prices Climb Above $5 as National Average Remains Steady
Washington's gas prices continue to rise, with an average price of $5.19 per gallon for regular gasoline as of Monday, according to data from AAA.
This marks a 5-cent increase from last week and puts Washington motorists among the highest in the country, only surpassed by Hawaii ($5.43) and California ($5.58).
Nationally, gas prices have decreased slightly to $4.06 per gallon, down from $4.09 a week ago.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, attributes the increases to rebounding oil prices driven by global supply concerns and ongoing refinery disruptions in Ukraine and Russia.
