Weakening Dollar Lifts Gold Prices Above $4,400
Gold prices have risen due to the weakening US dollar, which has made gold more affordable for buyers holding other currencies. Spot gold rose by 0.3% to $4,412.84 per ounce by 02:34 GMT on Thursday.
The US dollar remained under pressure despite the upward trajectory of US interest rates, according to Marex analyst Edward Meir. This has led to a persistently weak US dollar, which is benefiting gold prices.
US gold futures for December delivery dipped by 0.1% to $4,457.10 per ounce, according to Reuters market data.
