Western Canada Grain Prices Rise Amid Regional Variations

The latest grain prices in Western Canada have been released by PDQ, which provides information services and cash grain market prices. As of August 21, 2026, the average prices for various grains are as follows:

CWRS (Canada Western Red Spring) is trading at $13.5 per metric tonne, CWAD (Canada Western Amber Durum) at $13.0, CPSR (Canada Prairie Spring Red) at $11.5, and CDA (Canada Dark Amber) at $2.00.

The prices vary by region, with Peace Valley reporting the highest price for canola at $305.73 per metric tonne, followed by North Alberta at $317.10 and South Alberta at $319.00. Yellow peas are trading at $13.5 in most regions except for Northwest Saskatchewan.

It's essential for producers to check with several grain companies for the basis levels in their area, as prices may differ.
