Western Canadian Grain Prices Show Regional Variations
The latest grain prices in Western Canada have been released by PDQ, which is owned by the Alberta Wheat Commission. The figures are as of September 1, 2026.
The average prices for different types of grains vary across different regions. In Peace, CWRS (Canadian Western Red Spring) and CPSR (Canadian Premium Soft Red Winter) have prices of $323.93 and $310.70 per metric tonne respectively. Yellow peas are priced at $789.91.
In Northern Alberta, the price for CWRS is $336.04, while in Southern Alberta it is $338.55. The price for CPSR in both areas is lower than the national average, at $277.47 and $319.99 respectively. Yellow peas are priced at $792.90 and $798.74.
The prices for CWRS and CPSR in Northwest Saskatchewan are $327.51 and $305.99 per metric tonne. In Southwest Saskatchewan, the prices are lower, at $319.84 and $304.21 respectively. Yellow peas are priced at $783.00 and $787.65.
The prices for CWRS and CPSR in other areas of Western Canada vary, but the trend is generally downward compared to last year's figures. Producers are advised to check with multiple grain companies for basis levels in their area.
