Natural gas prices for August delivery rose on the first day of bidweek trading due to intensifying heat in the West and new Permian Basin takeaway capacity.

The Waha price, which is a key indicator of natural gas prices in the Permian Basin, more than doubled.

This increase was driven by forecasts pointing to increased demand for cooling as temperatures rise.
