Western Heat Wave Drives Up US Natural Gas Prices
Searing Western Temperatures Support Weekly Natural Gas Spot Prices
Natural gas spot prices in the US rose sharply last week due to extremely high temperatures across the western states, according to NGI's analytics platform. The warm weather led to increased demand for natural gas for both power generation and heating.
The NGI Bidweek Product Suite reported that the Henry Hub price rose by 10 cents per million Btu (MMBtu) last week, reaching $2.86/MMBtu. Similarly, the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) price increased by 15 cents/MMBtu to reach $2.75/MMBtu.
According to Entropic Analytics' Product Suite, pipeline flow data and bidweek product prices are key indicators of natural gas market trends. The platform provides real-time news, insights, and markets coverage through the NGI All News Access service.
