Cespira, the joint venture between Westport and Volvo Group, has announced new technical details about its HPDI 3.0 fuel system.

The latest generation of high-pressure direct injection technology retains proven combustion principles while advancing fuel rail-pressure control, hardware durability, and system integration.

HPDI 3.0 supports liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable bio-based liquefied natural gas (bioLNG) today while preserving adaptability for future low- and zero-carbon fuels.

The new fuel system's architecture improves fuel economy and engine performance, simplifying OEM calibration and unlocking greater power and efficiency from high-performance compression-ignition engines.
