The wheat market is experiencing a significant rally, reaching new highs on Wednesday as investors respond to news of potential escalation in the Black Sea conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

According to data from TradingView, Chicago SRW contracts are up by 42-43 cents, while KC HRW futures are trading with gains of 36-37 cents. MPLS spring wheat is also up by 27-28 cents.

The escalation concerns come as Russia is reportedly looking to increase its involvement in the Black Sea conflict, which could lead to suppressed wheat export flows from the region in the near-term.

In related news, EU soft wheat exports totaled 2.38 MMT from July 1 to August 23, down 1.18 MMT from the previous week.
