Wheat Prices Climb Amid Ukraine Export Concerns

Wheat prices continued to rise on Thursday following news that Russian President Vladimir Putin was considering escalating the war in Ukraine, which would restrict grain vessel movement in the Black Sea.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada increased its wheat production forecast for 2026-27 to 36.27 million tonnes in its August supply and demand report.

The US Department of Agriculture reported new crop wheat exports for the week ended Aug. 20 at 402,500 tonnes, matching trade expectations.
