Wheat Prices Plummet Amid Russian Peace Talks
Corn futures fell on September 9, 2026, as profit-taking pressure from shorter-term speculators took hold. December corn dropped by 5 3/4 cents to $5.27 3/4 near its daily low. The corn bulls appear tired and need a fresh fundamental spark to boost prices.
The soybean market saw modest profit-taking following recent gains, but sellers remain timid due to strong demand from China. USDA reported daily sales of 340,000 MT of U.S. soybeans to China and 100,000 MT to unknown destinations during the 2026-27 period.
December SRW wheat hit a two-week low, falling by 18 1/4 cents to $7.28 3/4 near its daily low. The winter wheat futures market saw selling pressure from profit taking and news reports that Russian President Putin wants to resume peace talks.
