Wheat Prices Surge Amid Escalating Black Sea Tensions
The wheat market is experiencing a rally to new highs, driven by concerns over the escalation of the Black Sea conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
According to reports, Russia is looking to intensify its actions in the region, which could lead to suppressed wheat export flows from the area.
As a result, prices for Chicago SRW contracts have risen 42-43 cents on Wednesday, with KC HRW futures trading with 36-37 cent gains at midday. MPLS spring wheat is also up 27-28 cents.
