Wheaton Precious Metals Surges on Higher Gold Prices in Q2
Wheaton Precious Metals Corp reported record revenue and profits for the first half of 2026, boosted by higher gold prices. The Vancouver-based company's second-quarter revenue soared to USD929.2 million, an 85% increase from USD503.2 million in the same period last year. Net profit jumped 86% to USD543.2 million from USD292.3 million.
The company attributed the gains to a 61% surge in the average gold equivalent ounce price to USD4,443 in the second quarter of 2026, up from USD2,754 in the same period last year. Wheaton Precious produced 202,229 gold equivalent ounces in the second quarter, a 6.3% increase from 190,179 ounces in the previous year.
The company maintained its 2026 production guidance of 860,000 to 940,000 gold equivalent ounces and raised its third-quarter dividend by 18% to 19.5 US cents per share. Chief Executive Officer Haytham Hodaly said: 'In an environment marked by commodity price volatility and cost pressures, our robust margins and cash flow generation underscore the strength of the streaming model.'
