Whittier Gas Pipeline Leak Discovered Amid Ongoing Repairs
A gas pipeline leak near Whittier has been reported by Enstar Natural Gas crews.
The leak was discovered on Sunday after a boater on the Twentymile River smelled gas and notified Enstar.
As of Tuesday, there had been no interruption to gas service, but utility spokeswoman Harley Hedlund warned that could change due to ongoing repairs.
The break is in a submerged portion of the pipeline near the river, and Enstar teams expect to repair it within 30 to 45 days.
