Williams Lands $5.5 Billion Deal for Momentum Midstream
Williams Cos. Inc. is expanding its Haynesville natural gas operations through a signed deal to acquire Momentum Midstream (M6) from EnCap Flatrock Midstream for up to $5.5 billion.
The agreement includes roughly $3.5 billion of cash and debt consideration, as well as about $2 billion of Williams equity.
Momentum's Haynesville platform adds more than 4,000 miles of natural gas gathering and transmission pipelines supported by over 1 million dedicated acres, delivering natural gas to key Gulf Coast regions including the Bethel, Carthage, and Silsbee hubs in east Texas and the Gillis hub in southwest Louisiana.
The acquisition creates a platform for additional expansion projects linking Haynesville supply with downstream markets. Williams plans to progress the Shelby Trough Connector, an expansion of the LEG system into the Shelby Trough area, which is expected to provide 750 MMcfd of initial capacity with expansion potential up to 1.5 bcfd.
