Wisconsin Approves Alliant Energy's LNG Storage Facility
Alliant Energy has received approval from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to move forward with its Rock County liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility. The facility will be located near Alliant's Riverside Energy Center campus in Rock County, Wisconsin.
The LNG storage facility will help ensure a consistent and reliable natural gas supply during periods of high demand, particularly during extreme cold weather. Roughly two-thirds of Wisconsin households rely on natural gas for heating, and demand rises sharply during these periods.
Alliant Energy's president, Becky Valcq, expressed gratitude for the Public Service Commission's thorough review. 'This investment represents an important step in strengthening our energy infrastructure to meet customers' needs,' she said.
