Wisconsin Corn Applauds E15 Inclusion in Farm Bill Text

The Wisconsin Corn Growers Association is celebrating a major win after the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry included language on year-round E15 fuel in the newly released Farm Bill '2.0' text.

For Wisconsin corn growers, securing permanent access to E15 is a top priority, seen as one of the fastest ways to increase demand for corn.

The state's ethanol industry plays a crucial role in its economy and agricultural sector, with nine ethanol plants operating in the state, generating an estimated $4.2 billion in annual economic activity, supporting almost 20,000 jobs, and using roughly one-third of Wisconsin's corn crop for production.

'We appreciate the Senate Committee of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for including year-round E15 in the Agricultural Act,' said Paul Jarvis, President of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association. 'If we can get this across the finish line, that would be a huge win for both consumers at the pump and corn growers across the country.'

The Farm Bill still has a long way to go before it's signed into law, with the Committee planning to continue advancing the process ahead of the planned August recess.
