The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has requested Enbridge to suspend pipeline rerouting work after a natural gas liquids spill near Saxon. The department expressed concern and frustration over recent noncompliance events, including the spill.

In a letter sent to Enbridge, the DNR asked for written responses to several questions about the spill, including the estimated volume and rate of propane and butane vapor release. They also requested information on worst-case scenarios, control measures, and mitigation plans.

The department asked Enbridge for their timeline for controlling the release, details about the contents of a tanker truck involved in the incident, and communication with federal agencies. Additionally, they requested updates on air monitoring data and groundwater information.

Wisconsin Tribal Nations and the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission have also raised concerns about the spill and previous compliance issues.
