WTI Bounces Back Amid Ongoing US-Iran Diplomacy and Regional Efforts

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil prices have recovered from Tuesday's decline, rising by 1.56% to around $75.50 on Wednesday. This rebound is partly due to a technical correction after the significant drop in the previous day.

The recovery, however, remains limited by ongoing diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran. Negotiations are advancing, with Qatar saying an interim agreement has been drafted to restore navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump has paused military strikes against Iran, citing a desire for negotiations to proceed, while reiterating the need for the Strait to reopen.

Regional efforts are also underway to secure key shipping routes. Iran is reviewing a proposal allowing European countries to participate in mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz, and discussions with Oman aim to safeguard trade routes. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is holding indirect talks with Yemen's Houthi rebels to prevent further escalation in the Red Sea.

Market fundamentals are also being closely monitored, particularly US Crude Oil inventories. Data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed an unexpected increase in stockpiles, shifting focus to the official Energy Information Administration (EIA) report due later in the day. Another build in inventories could remind markets that supply and demand balance remains a key driver of oil prices.
