WTI Crude Oil Price Falls by 1.08% to $80.01 per Barrel on August 4, 2026
The global oil market has seen a decrease in prices for both WTI and Brent crude oil on August 4, 2026. According to the latest data, WTI crude oil was recorded at $80.01 per barrel, down $0.87 per barrel from $80.88 per barrel on August 3rd, representing a decrease of approximately 1.08%. During the day, WTI crude oil fluctuated between $79.96 and $80.07 per barrel.
Brent crude oil fell less sharply, from $83.90 per barrel on August 3rd to $83.70 per barrel on August 4th, representing an absolute decrease of $0.20 per barrel or approximately 0.24%. Brent remains $3.69 per barrel higher than WTI at the time of this update.
In the domestic market, retail gasoline and diesel prices at Petrolimex's system remain unchanged, effective from 3 PM on July 30, 2026. The price difference between Region 2 and Region 1 currently ranges from 440-590 VND/liter, depending on the product.
Forecast for the fuel price adjustment on August 6th suggests that if the base price of common goods increases by less than 15% and decreases by less than 10%, the Thursday price adjustment schedule will remain in place. However, whether prices will fall or remain unchanged depends on the average price of refined products during the remaining days of the cycle.
