WTI Crude Oil Stalls at Trend Line Support
WTI crude oil has been experiencing a strong uptrend, with prices rising within a well-defined short-term ascending trend line. Each pullback along the way has been met with buying interest, leading to a recent swing high near $93.70.
After peaking at this level, the price has eased off, and it's now uncertain whether the trend line and nearby Fibonacci levels can attract enough buying interest to sustain the broader uptrend.
The 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level is currently around $88.98, which aligns with where the price is testing the trend line. A deeper pullback could bring the 50% level at $87.52 into focus, while a more significant correction might reach the 61.8% Fib at $86.06.
Both moving averages remain in a bullish setup, with the shorter-term average still above the longer-term one and both sloping higher, confirming that the path of least resistance remains to the upside for now.
The stochastic indicator has rolled over from the overbought zone, reflecting recent profit-taking, and still has room to fall before reaching oversold territory. The RSI has also eased off its highs but remains above the midline, suggesting underlying bullish momentum hasn't broken down.
