Xtreme Oilfield Technology Expands its Reach Across the Lakeland Region

Xtreme Oilfield Technology has experienced remarkable growth over the past two decades in the Lakeland region, expanding from a small operation to a major service provider employing 400 people across Alberta and beyond.

The company's fleet now includes 50 trailer vac trucks, designed for hauling fluid waste and other oil production byproducts. These versatile vehicles can carry up to 30,000 litres of material at a time and are equipped with advanced safety features such as GPS units, cameras, and natural gas engines.

Vice-president Ted Graling joined Xtreme in 2002 when the company had four trucks, and has seen firsthand the impact of rapid growth on the organization. He notes that remaining privately owned has allowed Xtreme to maintain independence in its decision-making process, while also allowing for greater investment in employee development and community support.

However, Graling acknowledges that challenges remain, including increasing fuel costs, worker shortages, and costly replacement parts. To mitigate these risks, Xtreme maintains a fleet of spare trucks and drivers on standby to ensure continuity of service, even in the event of equipment failure or driver turnover.
