Yakym Touts Farm Bill, E15 as Key to America First Policy

Representative Rudy Yakym of Indiana's 2nd Congressional District has made it clear that 'America First' policy starts on American soil, in this case, with agriculture.

Farmers across the district are facing some of their lowest prices in decades for soybeans and other row crops. High input costs, interest rates squeezing family operations, and an uneven playing field after years of failed trade policy have them worried about the next crop year.

Yakym has been working to support farmers through the bipartisan 2026 farm bill, which strengthens crop insurance, conservation programs, and research funding. He's also voted to allow year-round sales of E15, a move that could create demand for over 200 million additional bushels of Indiana corn.

The representative is tracking trade policy closely, supporting the Trump administration's efforts to open new markets to American corn and soybean exports. However, he has expressed concerns about the USMCA agreement, calling for market access promised but not delivered by Canada and Mexico to be secured before extending the agreement.
