Year-Round E-15 Sales Gain Momentum Amid Farm Bill Delays

Kansas corn growers are pushing for year-round E-15 gasoline sales as the Farm Bill stalls in the Senate. Disagreements over SNAP funding requirements have halted progress on the bill, which includes proposals with bipartisan support.

The proposal to allow year-round E-15 sales has gained momentum, with supporters citing its benefits to consumers and farmers. Senator Jerry Moran expressed his support for the measure back in March, stating that it would give consumers more choices at the pump and strengthen markets for US farmers and ethanol producers.

Brett Grauerholz, VP of the Kansas Corn Growers Association, believes that year-round E-15 sales will help catch up with other countries. 'Honestly, the United States is kind of behind the ball,' he said. 'If you look at other countries, they're already mandating E-30.'

Grauerholz emphasized the importance of using American-made corn to fuel vehicles. He noted that record exports and increased production have led to a surplus of corn in the US.
