Year-Round E15 Access Gains Momentum in US Legislation
Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy, believes that year-round E15 legislation is gaining momentum. The issue has been debated for over a decade, but recent progress in both the House and Senate suggests a resolution could be near.
The bipartisan support for the legislation is strong, with advocates looking to attach the provision to the Senate farm bill or another legislative package expected to pass in 2026. US Senator Chuck Grassley has indicated that nationwide year-round sales would provide a massive boost to the agricultural sector, generating $14 billion in additional corn demand.
The push for permanent access is fueled by a desire to provide consumers with more affordable options at the fuel pump as gasoline prices rise. Skor emphasized the presence of strong bipartisan support during her comments at the Iowa State Fair on Tuesday.
